So you can't get a live feed while in photo mode, but switch to video mode and it kind of half works!! I set the HDMI Output of the NX to 720p, then the Media Express Project setting to 720p50, voila, there's a picture! Firstly there's a warning message on both the camera's screen and the capture window saying 'Shooting functions are supported only when the HDMI output is set to 1080p.' With the NX500, I was getting nothing! Until reading the forum and a post above mentioned some cameras working only at 720p. The Gopro's were working fine at 1080p25.
